This summer, Duraflor supplied Forth Furnishings for a project that was part of the rejuvenation of the high-end student accommodation complex, the David Russell Apartments at St. Andrews University in Fife.
As one of the most esteemed educational establishments in Europe, St. Andrews University aimed to imbue their student accommodation facilities with the same level of prestige as their reputation. The David Russell Apartments complex houses over 1,100 student rooms, distributed across 33 apartment blocks. Serving as a vibrant hub of student life and education, it is an ever-changing environment that required a durable yet aesthetically pleasing floor covering solution. This is primarily due to the substantial level of foot traffic that flows through the corridors of the apartment blocks, with students coming and going year-round.
For this project, Ice Formation Alaskan Grey was specified. This choice met the criteria for both aesthetics and performance. Duraflor supplied nearly 1,000 square meters of carpet tiles for this project. Ice Formation is a robust, heavy-duty carpet tile with a naturally inspired design and comes with a 20-year commercial wear guarantee. This provided the specifier with peace of mind that this product will perform its job effectively for many years while maintaining its attractive appearance. Ice Formation is made from 100% solution-dyed nylon, offering excellent performance properties, making it easy to maintain and clean.
The contractor, Forth Furnishings, expressed their satisfaction with Ice Formation during this project, stating that the carpet tiles were easy to work with, and the quality and durability were evident during the installation process.
