Many favourites remain in the range, while new designs such as Weathered Oak, Limed Elm (above), Shadow Oak, Poured Lead and White Sparkle have been added, so as to ensure that the range remains on trend.

AXIS is without a doubt one of our most popular vinyl flooring options. Being a looselay Luxury Vinyl Tile, makes it perfect for fast installation and heavy traffic areas. From a design perspective, the natural wood textures and stone effect tiles, plus the unusual patterns achieved both with woven graphite and brushed anthracite, have all proved to be winners.
We are therefore very excited to be adding a new natural oak design to the range – AXIS OAK NATURE has a beautiful depth of grain and a light tone that makes it an ideal choice to lighten any commercial space. There are also some key talks that cover key topics such as wellbeing in the workplace – a regular feature of our Practical Design blogs. There are also talks on designing the agile office and designing for disabilities.
Another favourite and marking its 25thyear. Talks on colour and wellbeing feature in the programme – colour being another topic we cover at length in own design blogs. Plus, there is loads around sustainable design and CPDs. Of course this also a great place to see new products and learn about trends.
Why hexagonal carpet tiles are changing how flooring is perceived
Hexagonal Carpet Tiles create a real statement on the floor, so it is no surprise we are finding that the demand for them continues to grow.
We have been exploring a little further the reasons for their success:
One reason is clear, they liven up an office space. They can catch the eye yet can still be quite subtle in terms of colour and texture. That is probably why our Progression Hexxtile is so popular.
Hexagon Carpet Tiles can be used to create zones in an open plan office, especially with a pop of colour.
With the art deco revival and the growing demand for geometric patterns on the floor, the Duraflor Hexxtile range is right on trend.
Hexagons as a shape is strongly associated with nature and strength. It is a shape existing in nature in bee hives, so it makes sense that it would create a feeling of togetherness. The psychology of shapes is an interesting topic which lends itself to flooring design.

CDW gave Duraflor the perfect platform to highlight some of the company’s stunning new carpet tile ranges and the reaction was fantastic.
The Natural Terrain Collection really caught everyone’s eye. There are 3 carpet tile ranges in total, and as the name suggests, each tile is as distinct as the landscape it is depicting. The pattern variety is exceptional and the quality unquestionable.
Escarpment has a strong element of light and shade. Tundra has a complex variety of tones, that could so easily be found in nature, and Plateau is a more subtle luxury carpet, akin to a flatter landscape yet that still has so much great character. As all 3 ranges use the same colour bank, it is possible to use them together as part of a building plan, transitioning designs from room to room yet keeping an element of harmony.
Making its debut during CDW, another carpet tile range that is also ‘at one’ with current trends is Cubism. Looking at the range on the floor, you see subtle blocks and tonal changes in colour – creating a more modern twist on a design that takes its lead from past masterpieces. What is more made with Econyl yarn, means it meets some of the more demanding sustainability credentials a modern office project might demand.
We were delighted by the reaction to Progression Plank, which is also on the floor at our Gee Street showroom. Progression has been a long standing favourite for us, and last year it increased in popularity, when we offered it in hexagon shaped tiles. Hexxtile continues to grow and we believe the demand for Progression Plank will more than match that success.
And lastly May 2019, sees us launch Magnitude, with our deep understanding of the commercial flooring market, we know that this linear design will be a real winner as it has great depth and tone and offers an affordable solution to a project that demands a quality specification.
Cubism and Magnitude Carpet Tile Ranges launched at CDW
Already buzzing due to the positive feedback from our research around the new Natural Terrain Collection, Duraflor are pleased to announce 2 additional ranges that are being prepared for launch at CDW.
CUBISM is our twist on a modernist style. This range introduces a more subtle effect, yet still plays with the geometric shapes that remain a timeless feature in many interior design concepts. In Cubism, we also combine luxury and style, with the sustainability credentials that any modern office demands.
MAGNITUDE is a linear range, yet it is very distinctive with varying subtle degrees of straight line patterns all pointing in the same direction. In fact, we see this new carpet tile range is a dynamic one directional force, that is a perfect addition to any floor plan.

Clerkenwell Design Week is fast approaching and Duraflor will be showcasing a number of new products. One particular collection we are really excited about is the Natural Terrain Collection.
Consisting of 3 Ranges – Plateau, Escarpment and Tundra, we are able to offer our clients 3 very distinct designs. These evoke images of the Earth’s own diverse natural features, yet as with our new ranges they all still share the same rich colour bank of earthy browns and dark and warm greys.
As a taster of what is to come, we are giving you a first glimpse here of our Tundra range. Tundra’s blended tones reflect a landscape formed by icy grey rivers and rolling treeless hillsides. It is subtle yet has character, and brings an air of luxury to any floor.

The concept behind the Freedom Collection has proved very popular. Clients have been able to choose their colour palette from a range of 8 popular yarn combinations that we hold in stock, and then implement this across 5 designs, as they transition to different areas of their building.
One design has proved especially popular, in fact you could say we have seen sales soar since launch – Freedom Storm. Perhaps no surprise, as it simply looks stunning, and gives the floor an air of luxury.
